Les Restos du Coeur

We would like to give a donation of 1,000 € to Les Restos du Coeur, a French charity dedicated to helping the needy fight against social marginalization. Les Restos du Coeur or Restaurants for the Heart, is a French charity dedicated to helping the needy fight against social marginalization. Its main activity is delivering food packages and hot meals to the poor. Homeless and impoverished people can purchase a meal for just €1 from one of Les Restos du Coeur’s 113 associations and in some cases, particularly during the cold winter months, they are also offered accommodation for the night.

Every day, 40,000 Les Restos du Coeur volunteers welcome 60,000 of France’s poorest citizens. In 2006/7 23,000 babies (under 12 months) were sheltered at Les Restos du Coeur and 7,500 people were provided with emergency overnight shelter.

Each year, popular celebrities including actors, singers and comedians, organise a big concert and donate the profits generated through ticket and CD/DVD sales to the charity, Even with this support, Les Restos du Coeur still relies heavily upon the generosity of the public, who donate their time, money and food, to continue its important work.
