Lisa Judson - Executive Trader from Cumbria

Lisa Judson has been a Trader for three years. She thoroughly enjoys organising Phoenix charity events and generally does one or more a month. Coffee & Cards are staples in Lisa’s fundraising calendar, however she also takes part in ladies’ shopping events for PTA fundraising purposes and goes to toddler groups regularly to raise money either for their particular group or an initiative they’re supporting (e.g. the Shoebox Appeal).

Lisa has product baskets in the staff rooms of various schools in her area to help raise funds either for the school itself or a beneficiary charity nominated by the school’s staff. She also makes regular monthly appearances at a play centre in her nearest town which is raising money for a surgeon who, in his own time, takes himself to the most impoverished places in India to perform surgery on cleft palate babies who would otherwise have feeding problems which could be severe enough to result in death. Without surgery, they are ostracised by their community and face a life of poverty and hardship.

Twice a year, Lisa holds fundraising events in her own home for Dan, the head child of a family from Rwanda who her whole family is helping support through university so he can have a brighter future and help his own family to be cared for and educated. 10% of all sales Lisa makes at that event, including orders gathered beforehand and afterwards, are donated. Lisa also contributes £5 for every future event booked on that day for the next eight week period, has a donation basket available and often does a cake stall as well.

Lisa has raised over £800 this year for various good causes.
